KIBA Berlin and WarYoga proudly present the Halteres - a piece of strength history.

Halteres were used by the athletes of ancient Greece and are some of the earliest recorded strength training instruments. Together with Tom Billinge of WarYoga, an expert in the field, we have recreated these ancient weights based on historical originals.

The Greeks used Halteres as jumping weights to increase the distance of long jumps through momentum. They were also used for various muscle building exercises much like modern dumbbells.

Halteres came in a variety of styles and materials. We based the design on the classic version described by Pausanias and found at various archeological sites, staying as true to the original as possible.

The set is stone-cast by hand from high-performance concrete (UHPC). The surface is polished with organic wax to provide sheen, grip, and protection from moisture.

Contents:

- Two Halteres (left & right) at 4KG (8.8lbs) each

- Leaflet detailing the history of these weights as well as twelve historically accurate exercise examples. (access to video version included with purchase)

- Leather string to hang up the Halteres in historically accurate fashion
